The fabric we use is resistant to many sunscreens. However we cannot control the sunscreen you use and it might happen that you sunscreen leaves stains on the fabric.
We tested different sunscreens on our swimwear that sometimes left stains and we are happy to share we found some tricks to effectively remove them.
1. SOFT SOAP
- Apply some soft soap directly to the stain and add a bit of hot water to create a soapy mixture.
-
Let it soak for a few hours, then gently rub the area with your fingers or a soft brush. Be careful with delicate fabrics like swimwear, as it may cause pilling. Rinse with water.
2. DEGREASER
- Apply a small amount of degreaser or dish soap directly onto the stain and gently rub it into the fabric with your fingers.
- Let it sit for a few hours, then toss your swimwear into the washing machine at 30 °C. Goodbye sunscreen stains!
3. STAIN REMOVER
Just take a stroll down the cleaning aisle at your local supermarket or hardware store – you’re bound to find one that fits your needs. There are even stain removers specifically made for sunscreen stains! For the best results, make sure to follow the instructions on the packaging carefully.
